Directions for installing Adobe Acrobat on your computer (if you have Microsoft Internet Explorer):
1. Print a copy of this Web page. You’ll be leaving the APS Power Posse Web site and you will want to keep these instructions and the Web address to return. Please Note: Depending upon the speed of your connection to the Internet, it could take as long as one hour to download Adobe® Acrobat® to your computer.
2. On this page, click on the gold and red icon that says "Get Acrobat® Reader."
This will transport you to the Adobe Acrobat Reader home page. Scroll down and you will see boxes with "Acrobat® Reader," "English," and "Windows 95®" in them. If you need something different (for example, Windows 3.1®), click on the arrow to the right of the box and click on your selection. Scroll down a bit further and click on the button that says "Download."
3. Another page will appear. Scroll down a little until you see: "Get the Reader now! Just click on a Download Link." Most likely, you will want to select "Download ar32e301.exe from USA."
4. A gray "download" window will appear and ask if you would like to save ar32e301.exe to disc. Click "okay."
5. It will then ask what you would like to name the file (you can leave it as ar32e301.exe or give it a new name). At the top of the box, you will need to choose where you would like to save the Adobe® Acrobat® plug-in. You will probably want to save it on your hard drive, perhaps in your "Program" files (C:/Program Files). Go ahead and save it.
6. A box should appear telling you that Adobe Acrobat is downloading. When it is finished, a box will appear saying "Download Complete." Click "okay."
7. You will still be at the Adobe® Acrobat® Web site. Close down your browser (that is, close Microsoft® Internet Explorer®). Then open it again (called "relaunching the browser").
8. In the box at the top of your browser (where it says "Address"), enter www.aps.com.
9. This will take you back to the APS Web site. Go to the APS Power Posse "Teaching Concepts" page. Click on the underlined words of the paper that you would like to view or print. The paper should appear on your screen. You can print it by clicking on "File" (at the top left corner of your screen), and then on "Print."
