Sixth Grade ACTIVITY 8 - Energy Transformation and Hydroelectric Power General Description Students will explore the difference between kinetic and potential energy. Students will also discover how a hydroelectric dam works to change potential energy into electrical energy. They will identify the locations of hydroelectric dams in Arizona. Objective Students will explore potential and kinetic energy. Students will explain and provide examples of how potential energy is use to make things move.
